Position Description: 

Reporting to the Corporate Finance Director, the Senior Finance Analyst supports all activities related to corporate treasury and funding for the US business unit. Key responsibilities include company-wide cash forecasting, forecasting of funding needs, supporting issuance activities, debt analysis and reporting, and assisting the Corporate Finance Director in funding activities. The Senior Finance Analyst also collects, compiles and performs adhoc analysis and reporting using financial and capital market instruments. This role supports the overall Corporate Finance function by leveraging market data, forecasting and corporate research initiatives throughout the Treasury department.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities                                                                                                                                            

Corporate Finance Management

  • Drive the preparation, filing and reporting on borrowing base certificates for ABL facility and facilitate the required ABL audits.
  • Facilitate long-term cash flow forecasting, lead cash scenario analysis, analyze relevant cash flow activities and drive funding reporting.
  • Assist developing and maintaining controls relative to credit facility compliance.
  • Conduct balance sheet and cash flow stress testing and prepare relevant strategy reporting.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Finance Director, Cash Management Director, and Head of Treasury & Investor Relations to drive cash flow generation opportunities.
  • Provide support to the Corporate Finance Director to facilitate capital allocation and incentivize business decisions with the highest economic decision.
  • Assist with the weighted average cost of capital calculation development for Executive Leadership and Board approval.
  • Support new capital issuance, refinancing activities, or amendments to existing facilities.
  • Monitor and execute interest payments and related credit facility fees.
  • Support the development of the shareholder capital allocation strategy and assist with the execution of that strategy.
  • Assist with preparation for earnings calls, annual investor presentations, and debt investor road shows.
  • Analyze market news of the replacement tire industry and movements of ATD’s strategic partners and competitors’ stock to provide Executive Leadership and the Board of Directors with intelligence on major stock price movements or valuation trends.
  • Assist with developing and maintaining rating agency materials to drive relationships.
  • Participate in ongoing daily surveillance of market and industry events, industry trends, and macroeconomic trends.
  • Develop market intelligence on strategic partners, peers and customers by attending sell-side conferences and monitoring investor communications.
  • Develop and manage complex valuation models for the company.
  • Develop management reports on key market evolutions in partnership with Strategy, Finance, and the Business.

Process Improvement Management

  •     Identify and assist in streamlining areas of improvement and document all procedures.
  •     Enhance analysis and valuation modeling leveraging analytical tools and market data.

Qualifications                                                                                                                                           

Required

  •   Education: Bachelor’s degree (Business, Finance, Mathematics or related field); Masters of Business Administration is a plus
  •   Experience: 3-5 years related work experience in treasury, banking, FP&A or broader finance with emphasis on financial modeling, analytics and decision support
  •   Certifications: Professional Certification such as CTP (Certified Treasury Professional) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) is a plus, but not required

Desired

  • Experience with programming language such as R, Python or SAS

Candidate Skills and Competencies                                                                                                                                            

Finance:

o     Evaluate  the  strengths  and weaknesses of the  organization's  receivable  and payables processes, and identify new initiatives to increase efficiency and accuracy of working capital management activities and funding needs.

o     Analyze  and  identify  opportunities  for enhanced  cash flow,  liquidity  availability,  and funding structure flexibility.

o    Identify strengths and weaknesses with the organization's current capital structure and recommend improvements.

o     Recommend  new  treasury  management  initiatives  or  disposal  of older  initiatives  to enhance the financial stability of the organization and eliminate gaps with current policies and procedures.

o     Identify  areas  of opportunity  or barriers  for the organization's  financing  initiatives  by conducting a medium-term (6-12 months) and long term view of funding needs to support company strategy.

o    Evaluate business performance as applicable relative to the financial strategy.

o     Handle requests from businesses who want to merge or acquire the organization; evaluate and negotiate the proposition.

o    Identify and recommend new growth opportunities for the organization.

o     Apply  a  comprehensive  knowledge  of business,  capital  project,  and  asset  valuation techniques to address complex valuations.

o    Assist in the development of risk management policies for the organization.

o     Understand how changes in local and global markets will affect organizational goals and strategies.

Financial Planning:

o     Collaborate with finance and accounting leaders to set financial goals in the medium term (6-12 months) and deal with complex budgeting issues related to company funding and liquidity needs.

o     Evaluate  budgeting  initiatives  to reduce  the  amount  of variation  between  actual  and budgeted revenues or costs, and develop action plans to implement initiatives.

o     Forecast financial resource requirements for each department  to assist in the upcoming budgeting processes  and develop projected financial statements  for the organization, related to the budgeted revenue and cost targets.

o     Support departments  to achieve financial goals and work within the financial resources allocated to the department;  develop contingency plans or funds for departments  "over spending."

o     Explain budgeting process to business partners to help them with building and managing their budgets.

Financial Accounting

o    Develop financial statements  that are fully complete, accurate, and delivered in a timely manner.

o    Monitor month-end closing activities related to Treasury activities

o    Reconcile and adjust the operational processes underlying financial transactions.

o    Act as the first point of contact for queries regarding the processes that support general accounting.

o    Execute complex activities that support general accounting

Management Accounting

o     Evaluate the cost/volume/profit of the organization's products, channels or, business units, as well as the impact of changes to the organization's supply chain to optimize liquidity and funding costs.

o    Demonstrate an understanding of management accounting systems.

o     Perform analyses on internal key performance indicators (KPIs), as well as KPIs for the organization's target customers.

o    Deliver high-quality, accurate, and complete management reporting information.

o    Participate in analyzing competitors' financial information, identifying their strengths and weaknesses, in comparison to the organization's.

 Internal Control

o     Demonstrate a general understanding of the control systems the organization has in place to internally control financial operations.

o     Recommend  productive  and practical updates  and modifications  to the organization's control policies and procedures.

 Data Analysis

o    Demonstrate a good understanding of metrics and data.

o    Identify appropriate metrics to assess initiatives.

o    Explain the rationale behind the collection and use of metrics.

o    Leverage existing tools to meet organizational needs.

o    Draw insightful conclusions, identifies trends, and recognizes patterns through data analysis and collection.

o    Connect insights generated from multiple data points to provide insightful recommendations.
