Position Description:
The Graphic Artist supports ATD’s Proprietary Brands and ATD’s national brands through creative visual representations of the messaging and communications. The Graphic Artist will translate business and marketing objectives into designs that are persuasive, compelling, visually exciting and emotionally engaging.Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Create and execute engaging, impactful and unique design solutions using brand imagery, identity guidelines and consistent brand messaging
Ability to organically draft concepts and clearly articulate ideas during a creative meeting before moving into the design phase which includes specific creative detail such as select colors, artwork, photography, style of type and other visual elements for the design
Execute and apply brand style guide elements, including logo, typography, photography, video, e-business and activation materials, ensuring consistency with brand positioning
Prepare assets in pragmatic, efficient structure according to production guidelines to ensure easy duplication when appropriate
Build all job document templates to meet print and digital requirements
Identify and read publications that will inspire creativity in design concepts. Gather and keep up-to-date on relevant industry guidelines and current market trends for digital and traditional media, including sizing specification and format guidelines
Stay up-to-date with design trends/best practices and serve as the subject matter expert
Maintain all creative project and design files, font and illustration library organized to department uniform filing process
Make necessary edits and revisions until collateral is ready for publication / post production handoff
Help evolve and define brand imagery and guidelines as well as standardization across various channels
Prioritize and manage multiple projects at one time and communicate expectations and deadlines prior to project initiation
Prioritize, track, handle and maintain records of the elements and time schedules of multiple projects via system software
Present completed designs for approval within production deadlines
Contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment and use resources effectively to minimize turnaround time without compromising quality
Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced work environment with exceptional attention to detail, strong organization, time management and decision-making skills
Complete additional tasks as assigned

Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Design, Web Design, Digital Design, Fine Arts or similar
Experience: 3-5 years graphic design experience in all aspects of design
(digital media, sales collateral, pre-press and print, packaging, merchandising)
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of experience in a Corporate or Agency Environment
2+ years of experience in all industry leading software, including Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, In Design), with the ability to work in MAC & PC environments
Passion for design and knowledgeable on industry trends and specifications
Experience working in in-house corporate agency setting
Able to communicate ideas visually, verbally, and in writing
Passion for learning and drive for continuous growth
Flexibility to adapt to frequently changing work environment, and deliver on challenging demands
Ability to design with the end in mind, understanding production workflows
Understanding of multimedia/interactive design principles and able to design for Web, Animation, and Video
Web design experience is a plus
Excellent problem-solving skills must be resourceful and solution-oriented with a positive, “can-do” attitude.
