Position Description: 

Reporting to the Director-Capital Finance and Treasury, the Treasury Manager is responsible for influencing financial business decisions at all levels by making systemic connections and applying advanced analytical capital management and risk management techniques. Key responsibilities include overseeing cash management, liquidity management, financial reporting and analysis, managing bank relationships, and designing new treasury and banking processes to increase efficiency of managing cash and increasing working capital. The Treasury Manager ensures that the company has cost-effective financial risk, cash, and investment strategy so that it can use the resources appropriately to achieve its strategic goals.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Corporate Finance Management

•Oversee daily corporate cash management:

•Monitor and manage the company’s daily cash and debt positions.

•Approve and execute funds transfers to support liquidity needs at various legal entities.

•Administer daily liquidity management; determine daily borrowing needs against asset-based lending facility.

•Evaluate daily cash position to ensure adequate liquidity to meet immediate cash disbursement requirements.

•Manage, maintain and administer bank relationships and report bank information or scorecards.

•Drive cash flow generation opportunities.

•Support balance sheet and cash flow stress testing.

•Maintain and prepare ad-hoc cash management reports for distribution to senior leadership and the Board of Directors.

•Ensure compliance with SOX controls, FBAR, FATCA, anti-money laundering regulations, and other rules governing cash transactions and banking.

•Conduct activities to manage the company’s short-term liquidity needs by forecasting cash flows and interest income/expense, raising cash in the commercial paper market, and investing excess cash.

•Monitor long-term interest rate and cost of capital.

•Conduct analysis in support of the capital and treasury risk management strategy.

•Compile information and documentation to enable leaders to serve as liaisons between Senior Executive stakeholders (Executive Officers and the Board of Directors), field/department management, and external constituents.

•Evaluate financial, operational, market, and credit risk to assist establishing strategic direction to protect the organization.

•Identify opportunities to manage costs that arise from risk mitigation and long-term investments.

•Oversee month end and year end reporting and monthly journal entries related to Treasury activities.

•Manage debt compliance needs including rollover of LIBOR hedge contracts

Monthly settlement of interest rate swaps as well as reporting and valuation of those swaps

•Complete reporting and communication into cash flow activities and position and support relevant research.

•Provide support for processing field payments.

Process Improvement Management

•Identify and assist in streamlining areas of improvement and document all procedures.

•Drive simplification of the company’s bank account, funding, reporting, and compliance structure to improve transparency, reduce debt, and optimize liquidity needs.

•Work with internal teams to define business requirements and leverage technology including a Treasury Management Systems to enable streamlining of Treasury activities.

Team Management

•Create a team culture that emphasizes flawless execution of critical treasury activities and inspires the team to drive cash flow and productivity opportunities.

•Provide guidance and coaching to build associate expertise in financial risk, cash, liquidity, and funding management.

•Evolve team to be fully cross trained internally and promote synergistic approach to the broader finance umbrella

•Education: Bachelor’s degree (Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field)

•Experience: 5 years related work experience in treasury, banking, or accounting; knowledge of cash management products, bank services, processes of U.S. financial institutions; experience with treasury workstation and online banking systems


•Education: Master of Business Administration

•Certifications: Professional Certification such as CTP (Certified Treasury Professional) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst)


Candidate Skills and Competencies

•Management Accounting
◦Leverage advanced internal performance measurement techniques; modify performance measurement techniques to ensure continued appropriateness for the organization's business model.

◦Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the organization's receivable and payables processes, and identify new initiatives to increase efficiency and accuracy of working capital management activities.
◦Analyze and identify opportunities for cash investments.
◦Identify strengths and weaknesses with the organization's current capital structure and create reports to recommend improvements.
◦Recommend new treasury management initiatives or disposal of older initiatives to enhance the financial stability of the organization and eliminate gaps with current policies and procedures.
◦Identify areas of opportunity or barriers for the organization's financing initiatives and foreign exchange management by conducting a medium-term (6-12 months) environmental scan.
◦Determine which businesses would be an appropriate alignment with the organization, if applicable to the financial strategy.
◦Handle requests from businesses who want to merge or acquire the organization; evaluate and negotiate the proposition.
◦Identify and recommend new growth opportunities for the organization.
◦Apply a comprehensive knowledge of business, capital project, and asset valuation techniques to address complex valuations.
◦Assist in the development of risk management policies for the organization.
◦Understand how changes in local and global markets will affect organizational goals and strategies.

•Financial Accounting
◦Ensure proper disclosure of the organization's financial statements and serve as a subject-matter expert in the reporting obligations of the organization.
◦Analyze organizational financial statements to assess the impact of different processes that support general accounting and identify trends and areas of improvement.
◦Integrate or improves the organization's month-end closing activities.
◦Support the design of the organization's chart of accounts related to Treasury activities, according to industry best practices and business fit.
◦Oversee and approve reconciliation and adjustment to the operational processes underlying financial transactions.
◦Manage and ensure conformity, accuracy, and completeness of the organization's processes that support general accounting.

•Internal Control
◦Conduct medium-term (6-12 month) internal scans to identify barriers and opportunities related to the organization's internal control systems.
◦Assist in the development, maintenance, and updating of fraud or error detection protocol.
◦Monitor employees who work with financial information or financial assets to ensure compliance with internal regulations, policies, and procedures.
◦Systematically assemble pertinent organizational information for internal and external auditing processes.
◦Assist in developing internal auditing procedures or programs and address complex problems related to the audit plan.    
◦Develop auditing communications regarding results and next steps for use internally and externally.        
◦Communicate with external auditors regarding any basic auditing queries.

•Financial Planning
◦Collaborate with finance and accounting leaders to set financial goals in the short and medium term (6-12 months) related to cash, liquidity, and funding.
◦Deal with complex budgeting issues.
◦Evaluate budgeting initiatives to reduce the amount of variation between actual and budgeted revenues or costs, and develop action plans to implement initiatives.
◦Forecast financial resource requirements for each department to assist in the upcoming budgeting processes and develop projected financial statements for the organization, related to the budgeted cash, liquidity, and funding.
◦Support departments to achieve financial goals and work within the financial resources allocated to the department; develop contingency plans or funds for departments "over spending."
