Position Description: 

Reporting to the Senior Income Tax Manager, the Senior Income Tax Analyst will ensure the timely and accurate preparation of tax provisions and filing of various tax returns and related regulatory filings. The Senior Income Tax Analyst enables financial business decisions through complex analysis and solutions to ensure compliance with laws and regulations. Through insights and guidance on optimal tax planning, controls and transactions, the Senior Income Tax Analyst ensures that the company has cost-effective management of tax liabilities.



Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Tax Management

  • Develop potential solutions to maximize tax efficiency.
  • Develop potential changes to tax policies and plans based on analysis of legislative actions.
  • Perform analysis in support of tax strategy.
  • Conduct assessments and prepare insights on tax implications of financial risks.
  • Prepare annual tax returns and tax forecasts.
  • Update documentation on tax policies and procedures.
  • Resolve directly or partner with stakeholders to resolve tax-related internal/external audit issues, particularly income tax audits.
  • Work with Tax associates to quantify and minimize US tax through tax planning initiatives relating to US operations.
  • Analyze and review P&L and balance sheet accounts in determining Federal taxable income and insure those items are properly reflected in the US Federal Tax Return.
  • Analyze P&L and balance sheet accounts to identify the location of transactions, assets, and people to properly source taxable income to the appropriate State.
  • Prepare quarterly income tax provision calculations and related analyses and journal entries
  • Prepare consolidated U.S. income tax return, state tax returns, including consolidated returns, quarterly U.S. income tax provision, and quarterly financial footnotes.
  • Review fixed assets and adjust tax attributes as necessary.
  • Collect and consolidate data collection for income tax audits.
  • Assist in communications with taxing authorities.
  • Reconcile tax accounts monthly.
  • Assist with technical tax research.

Performance Improvement Management

  • Analyze opportunities to improve tax efficiency.

Qualifications

Required

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience: 3 years income tax experience in public accounting or in a large company
  • Certifications: CPA
