Position Description: 

A Senior Developer is responsible to design and code functional programs and applications. The ideal candidate has excellent knowledge of at least one of required programming language. The role is responsible to write clean and flawless code to produce fully functional software applications according to requirements.



Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Understand client requirements and how they translate in application features.
  • Assist in determining time and cost estimates for assigned projects.
  • Design creative prototypes according to specifications.
  • Write high quality source code to program complete applications within deadlines
  • Plan, coordinate and execute project activities to ensure timely completion.
  • Perform unit and integration testing before launch.
  • Conduct or assist with functional and non-functional testing as needed
  • Troubleshoot and debug applications in a timely manner
  • Evaluate existing applications to reprogram, update and add new features to increase the program’s effectiveness.
  • Develop technical documents and handbooks to accurately represent application design and code
  • Review current systems
  • Work closely with business analysts, Solution/Enterprise architects and other IT and business teams
  • Produce detailed specifications and writing the Program code
  • Design and develop support fixes, small enhancements and coding for major projects
  • Demonstrate a sound knowledge of the Systems Development Life Cycle methodology (SDLC) like Iterative, Waterfall, Agile, and others for assigned projects and tasks
  • Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Work under the direction of a manager
  • Participate in the deployment of business applications and other projects
  • Keep up to date with technical as well as industry sector developments
  • Customer satisfaction
  • Accomplishment of IT objectives and execution of defined goals
  • Work with internal and external vendor teams on all support/enhancement/project related activities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g. Product owners, QE, EA, PE, DevOps, Security, etc.)
  • Good understanding of securing coding practices and PCI related code remediation
  • Maintain the systems once they are up and running
  • Adapt the program to new requirements, as necessary
  • Develop ad hoc and standard project reports for management as needed
  • Consult manuals, periodicals and technical reports to learn new ways to develop programs and maintain existing skills and knowledge

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or related field or equivalent combination of industry related professional experience and education.
  • 2-3 years of experience working with enterprise applications.
  • Hands on experience working in integrated development environments.
  • Extensive experience with operating systems.
  • Extensive experience with database.
  • Hands-on software troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience with specific phases of the software development life cycle.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with the retail industry.


Candidate Skills and Competencies

Technical

  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies
  • Solid working knowledge of current Internet technologies
  • Working technical knowledge of programming languages

Competencies

  • Programming / Software Development (PROG)
    • Design, code, test, correct, and document simple programs, or scripts and assist in the implementation of software
  • Testing (TEST)
    • Execute test scripts and record results and report issues.
    • Develop an understanding of the role of testing within system development, as a tool for design improvement as well as a validation process.
