Position Description: 

Reporting to the Director of Procure-To-Pay, the National Accounts Senior Analyst is primarily a project-driven and task-driven individual contributor responsible for the continuous improvement of the National Account reconciliation processes. This role will partner closely with IT, Merchandising, Sales and CI in order to address process problems and identify root causes for transaction errors. The role will also serve as the subject matter expert for the National Accounts team as new programs are proposed and built, supporting new supplier and program onboarding. The Senior Analyst will also leverage data and KPIs to help monitor process performance to help the team proactively address issues before they grow into larger issues. As the SME for National Account processing, this role will help define the required training for both new and existing National Account specialists. It will be critical for this individual to demonstrate the behaviors necessary to shift a corporate culture to thinking about process simplification and improvement with business impact, as well as the ability to embrace change and influence others.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Procurement Management

  • Serve as primary escalation point for team on complex issues and problem-solving needs.
  • Engage with both vendor and internal IT teams to diagnose transaction transmission issues, whether EDI or other methods.
  • Act as liaison with ATD IT team to resolve issues, rejection files or transmission errors.
  • Help troubleshoot issues that team members may have which could be data, process, or technology related.  Be responsible for driving the resolution of such issues.
  • Provide direction with all new vendor programs, acting as liaison with Information Management team (customer administration specialists) regarding program set-ups and data quality.
  • Coordinate necessary business testing for all new set-ups and programs.
  • Work with Director of P2P and HR to define appropriate training for team members.
  • Lead functional training for new and existing associates to help increase team expertise.
  • As needed, provide transactional assistance to help with backlogs across the team.
  • Solicit feedback from business partners and stakeholders on team performance in order to proactively identify potential issues.
  • Monitor transaction balances in the 40650 GL in order to investigate and root cause issues.
  • Help define metrics and reporting in order monitor variances and escalate as required.

Process Improvement Management

  • Provide continuous process improvement to the Spend Management function by evaluating, planning, and implementing improvements in business processes and practices.
  • Quantify benefits associated with process improvements to track the financial impact.
  • Serve as the National Accounts subject matter expert for Process Improvement projects.
  • Act as liaison with CI on Short/Mid/Long-Term Initiatives.
  • Understand the complete data flow from beginning to end for all National Account transaction types.  Partner with CI team to document processes at a detailed level.

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree (Business, Technology, or other quantitative discipline)
  • Experience: 3+ years’ in accounting, with focus on secondary supply transaction models


  • Experience: Lean or Six Sigma process improvement, process mapping, root cause analysis
  • Skills:  Oracle, Excel, knowledge of EDI transmissions
