Position Description: 

The Regional Supply Chain Director ("RSCD") is responsible for managing and integrating business process activities in their territory, which are in Supply Chain or related to Supply Chain's activity, to deliver efficient and cost effective performance. In addition, the RSCD will collaborate with the RVP to ensure profitable inventory and operations. The RSCD is also responsible for coaching and managing DC manager performance. Lastly, the RSCD will execute and deploy supply chain initiatives driven by the Supply Chain Field Support Center, to ensure continuous improvement.

Primary Responsibilities:

Manage product availability, warehouse operations, and on-time delivery performance to deliver cost effective performance and high customer satisfaction for subset of a region's DCs Coach and manage DC manager performance Collaborate with Supply Chain leadership territory supply chain vision and strategy (i.e key choices, must win battles) Collaborate with Sales, Category Management to ensure profitable inventory, product assortment, operations Collaborate with Category Management on new product launches, proactively identify inventory with potential to become DR&I Collaborate with sales leaders to facilitate sales of DR&I inventory, transfer of inventory between DCs to fulfill internal demand Manage overall cost of last mile delivery activities Maintain frequent touch points at all assigned DCs; visit DCs minimum of once per month Ensure adherence to safety-related policies and institute territory-specific rules to improve employee safety Implement the standardized and best practice “way of working” in operations Own regional supply chain talent pool, ensure right people in right roles

Experience(s) that Best Prepares You:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year college or university or equivalent work experience required
  • Experience:
    • Management experience and a minimum of 7-10 years distribution operations experience
    • Experience in managing large teams preferred, but not required
    • Experience in leading Business / Function transformation preferred, but not required

  • Proven leader; strong manager and coach of direct reports
  • Strong customer orientation
  • Deep knowledge of supply chain operations, understanding of problem areas and levers to improve
  • Ability to work within established policies and procedures
  • Strong understanding of business process management and tools available to improve business performance
  • Analytical ability to identify key trends and areas for operations performance improvement
  • Credibility with field organization, based on field experience with ops, to drive organizational change and support change management
  • KPI-Orientated to achieve business objectives
  • Strong presentation, and verbal & written communication skills

Physical Demands/Work Environment/Travel Requirements:

  • Physical demands:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk, hear, taste and/or smell; the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 150 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work environment:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Travel required:  90% of the time, travel throughout the assigned territory and will require overnight stays. Travel could include both automobile and air travel.
