Position Description: 

The primary responsibility of the Product Manager is to align business and technical components to ensure delivery of projects, ensure that TireBuyer has a diverse portfolio of best-in-class offerings, develop trusted relationships with cross-functional with business owners to understand objectives of their business processes, goals, key problems and opportunities to capture customer information and support sales and marketing efforts as needed to aid in execution of roadmaps, value propositions, feature/benefits, FAQs, win/loss analysis, market analysis, RFP/RFI completion, education, conference/exhibition efforts and demonstration tools.

Primary Responsibilities:                                                          

  • The Product Manager will be responsible for aligning business and technical components to ensure delivery of projects.
  • The candidate for this role will ensure that Tire Buyer has a diverse portfolio of best-in-class offerings through support of the company’s product strategy and market requirements, identified by coordinating market research, competitive analysis and capturing requirements from customers and prospects
  • Per a strategic roadmap outlined by the management team, the Product Manager will be assigned new projects to own and drive to implementation.
  • This position will conduct extensive market research, analyze internal/external quantitative and qualitative data, in order to help identify key strategies and tactics inside/outside his/her functional area in order to:
    • Drive incremental conversion rates (grow 10-20% per year) and revenue within his/her assigned area of responsibility.
    • Support the overall and ATD core strategies/goals
    • Grow EBITDA
    • Help grow Tire Buyer revenues to +$300million/year.
  • Based on the key strategies and tactics identified, this position will build detailed business cases outlining the ROI on specific projects.
  • Create and maintain Tire Buyer product and feature roadmaps for improving the core eCommerce experience, be accountable for KPI’s (as defined by management), and help manage prioritization and tradeoffs against the customer experience.
  • This individual will have demonstrated executive presence and be able to clearly discuss and communicate product value and benefits to customers, prospects, and internal and external partners.
  • Author detailed web business requirement documents to articulate business unit initiatives, customer needs, competitive feature gaps, business cases and required metrics.
  • Author detailed use cases, user stories, test cases that can be deciphered by our Technical Development team.
  • Develop business cases on new projects that will positively impact his/her area of the business, and take ownership in driving product and new feature development through every stage of the web development cycle.
  • Work with both internal and external eCommerce tools/services on a day-to-day basis in order to help drive the business.
  • Fully understand ATD’s and Tire Buyer goals and key strategies.  Based on these goals, the individual will be able to prioritize his/her area of work in order to help achieve these goals.
  • Have a full understanding of the appropriate metrics and key performance indicators to measure and monitor performance to his/her goals. Monitor market and competitive intelligence, leverage internal data tracking tools, perform analysis, and leverage own conclusions to improve product/services client satisfaction and overall business results.
  • Develop and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly reports (KPI’s defined and assigned by leadership) on his/her area of the business.
  • Develop trusted relationships with cross-functional business owners to understand objectives of their business processes, goals, key problems and opportunities to capture customer information and use it to help drive business decisions.
  • Work and effectively execute on multiple projects, both small and large, with various business owners.
  • Participate in meetings with business leaders to establish priorities, communicate process & progress of current projects, sales performance, and discuss analysis findings. Serve as the customer voice and participate in technology discussions and decisions.
  • Support sales and marketing efforts as needed to aid in execution of roadmaps, value propositions, feature/benefits, FAQs, win/loss analysis, market analysis, RFP/RFI completion, education, conference/exhibition efforts and demonstration tools.
  • Facilitate standardized iterative interaction with technology/development personnel and business analysts, communicating clear processes for product, related services and internal tools/platforms as it relates to applications, quality assurance test execution, and addressing of issue resolution.
  • Work cross functionally to drive the implementation of new products and features, as well as help drive the day-to-day operations of the website to maximize sales/revenue.
  • Responsible for performing this role in accordance with all applicable regulatory and quality systems standard operating processes.
  • Recommend methodologies for and drive conflict resolution and issues between multiple teams or team members.
  • Ensure that quality and performance standards are established and measured with improvement goals developed.
  • Revenue: Growing top line revenue for and his/her area of responsibility (as defined by leadership)
  • EBITDA: Growing overall profits.
  • Overall accountability and timeliness with various assignments covering a broad range of projects (small, medium and large).
  • ROI: Return on Investment in his/her area of responsibility.
  • Online conversion rates, overall revenue, EBITDA, and overall customer satisfaction for online browse and purchasing of Tire Buyer products and partner dealer services.
  • Ability to deliver key projects and other assignments on time and with quality.

Key Partners (Positions):  

  • Product Managers –Partnering to assure business needs are met.
  • Web Designers – Work with Designers to ensure consistency across multiple projects as well brand standards are met.
  • User Experience – Work with User Experience teams to ensure UX and design work together cohesively.
  • Copy Writers – Work with content providers to ensure design and copy work seamlessly.
  • Marketing – Partner to assure Marketing needs are met
  • Development Team


Experience(s) that Best Prepares You:           

  • Education:  Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree, in Computer Science or a related engineering field.
  • Experience:  Minimum of 5-7+ years of experience working in software delivery as a product/program manager.

  • Excellent written, verbal, web, face to face communication and group presentation skills. Comfortable presenting at all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to effectively maintain/build relationship across business groups.
  • Proven track record in effectively leading and managing teams to produce on-time, high-quality deliverables with a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrated experience working with broad cross-functional teams with ability to sell ideas and plans to internal constituencies, executives, customers, commercial team, analysts, and partners, strong strategy, product management, consulting, marketing, business, technology experience and understanding of e-Commerce best practices.
  • Successful track record of facilitating remote multi-stakeholder teams to make decisions.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, matrix organizational environment with an aggressive multi-project schedule, strong analytical abilities and decision-making capabilities.
  • Strong market and customer centric orientation.
  • Demonstrable intermediate- to-advanced level proficiency in MS-Office including MS-Word, MS-Excel and MS-PowerPoint, with strong technology industry background in software, hardware and networking environments, experience with a web analytics tool such as Core-Metrics or Omniture, broad working knowledge of project management skills, problem solving, conflict resolution, decision-making skills, financial and analytical skills, and experience working in agile development environments.
