Position Description: 

The primary responsibility of the Order Analyst is to manage forecasts, order placement and stock replenishment for the specific brands and/or distribution centers as assigned, processes “special orders” as appropriate also has primary responsibility for relationship with vendors’ customer service personnel related to orders, backorders, expediting, service issues, etc.

Primary Responsibilities:                                                      

  • Develop and maintain necessary records and filing of orders for efficient operation.
  • Cross train with other Order Analyst as required.
  • Be observant to computer programs and systems modification or enhancement opportunities that might improve ordering efficiencies and effectiveness
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Review Demand Plan forecast weekly using appropriate judgment
  • Review and process orders in accordance with purchasing policies and procedures and using general familiarity with products –
  • Automatic orders through Advanced Supply Chain based on vendor/DC order schedule
  • DC generated orders (e.g. Orders mailbox and rapid ships) in accordance with guidelines
  • Tactfully communicate with DC’s regarding questions or issues
  • House Orders and “Servicing warehouses” as assigned.
  • Function as primary contact with vendor customer service personnel
  • Knowledge of the vendor’s shipping/ordering requirements, product return policies and procedures. etc.
  • Order placement – ensure completeness and accuracy
  • Order changes, cancellations, etc., including backorder clean up procedures
  • Regular, periodic open order synchronization and clean up
  • Coordination between DC and vendor for resolution of issues and questions
  • Proactively identify stock out issues for assigned vendors and analyze root cause of problem.
  • Recommend corrective action to Director – Ordering and Replenishment
  • Coordinate with Sales Department/Brand Managers/Buyers/DC personnel to ensure appropriate inventory levels to support business requirements
  • Back-up other purchasing personnel as needed.
  • Appropriate inventory to meet customer needs through effective forecast review and order execution.
  •  Purchase orders executed timely and accurately and effectively communicated

              to vendors

  •  Open purchase orders closely synchronized with assigned vendors

Experience(s) that Best Prepares You:                                     

  • Education:  Minimum high school diploma or GED; associate or bachelor’s degree from college or university preferred
  • Experience:  Strong analytical background preferably in inventory/purchasing with exposure to forecasting and replenishment concepts/systems/processes. Experience and success working in team environment. Industry and product exposure helpful.

  • Work environment:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Travel required:  0% of the time, travel throughout the geographic area within the assigned region and will require overnight stays.  Travel to the Field Support Center and other destinations will be required.
