Position Description: 

The Mixing Center - Yard Jockey's primary duties include relocating and positioning of trucks and trailers for loading and unloading, maintaining organization of parking lot and drop yard, works closely with Supervisor and Traffic Coordinator to maintain smooth flow of trucks into and out of the warehouse., also stage trucks and trailers for loading/unloading, maintain trucks and equipment to ensure proper working order and perform and maintain daily truck inspections.

Primary Responsibilities:                                                        

  • Stage trucks and trailers at doors for loading and unloading.
  • Maintain an inventory of trailers and equipment staged at the warehouse.
  • Direct inbound drivers to the proper areas for unloading and staging of empty trailers.
  • Maintain trucks and equipment to ensure proper working order.
  • Perform and maintain daily truck inspections.
  • Assist GM in maintaining drop yard and fencing.
  • Keep and update an inventory of available equipment on drop yard.

Experience(s) that Best Prepares You: 

  • Class A CDL and clear driving record
  • Maintain company certification and required medical documents
  • Have five years driving experience on over the road or local delivery driving.
  • Familiar with tractor trailer and box truck equipment and their operation.
  • Possess High School diploma or GED.

Physical Demands/Work Environment/Travel Requirements:

  • Vision must be good and able to pass DOT physical requirements.
  • Employee must be able to sit, stand, climb in and out of trucks for long periods.
  • Employee must be able to occasionally lift and move loads up to 150 lbs.
  • Employee must be able to stoop, kneel, use hands to operate controls on trucks and trailers or any other warehouse equipment.
  • Physical demands:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk, hear, taste and/or smell; the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 150 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work environment:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
