Position Description: 

The primary responsibility of the IT Operations Manager is to manage the performance, functionality and reliability of ATDs applications. This position manages Technical/Functional Specialists and Operations staff to ensure 24x7 application software availability in support of mission critical business requirements. The IT Operations Manager functions as both production support and development support for implementation projects. This position also works with the Senior IT Management team to establish strategies and priorities for the overall IT operations team by analyzing and understanding the current and future applications and operational support needs in order to formulate and recommend plans to keep pace with business demand.

This role works very closely with the other team members in the Infrastructure, Network and Operations groups including Systems and Network Engineers. They also work regularly with the Development, QA and Partner Support groups

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage, lead and motivate the IT Operations teams consisting of Oracle DBA’s, Linux and Windows technicians
  • Coordinate with business analyst, developers, and DBA teams to ensure application/database performance and reliability
  • Support the current IT portfolio of systems; Oracle databases, eBusiness Suite, open source (LAMP) online and database technologies, legacy applications, SQL and PL/SQL
  • Act as liaison for IT Operations and Application Security compliance
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of technology and production processes
  • Ensure regular communication to Senior IT Management concerning project's, risks, concerns, problems, and needs
  • Keep abreast of new design tools, hardware, software, and technology and make recommendations for future deployment
  • Skilled with examining and re-engineering operational procedures, formulating policies, and developing/implementing new strategies
  • Skilled in organizing resources and establishing priorities
  • Support mission critical systems in a 24X7 environment
  • Plan and implement application/database upgrades as needed
  • Ability to analyze and resolve application/database performance, capacity, replication, and other distributed data issues
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

  • Accomplishment of IT objectives and execution of goals
  • Delivery on projects and service level delivery
  • Participates in disaster recovery testing and the updating/maintenance of disaster recovery scripts and documentation
  • Schedules and manages system activities in order to optimize Application software availability and optimization
  • Interacts with Infrastructure and Operations Leadership to ensure that computing platforms are not interfering with customer service performance metrics
  • Act as incident management lead during outages/crises
  • Perform on-call duties when required

  • Education:  Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or University required
  • Experience:
    • REQUIRED:
      • 5+ years of previous Management of Server and Database teams is REQUIRED.
      • Current or prior hands-on experience installing/supporting Linux and Windows servers
      • Current or prior hands-on experience supporting Oracle databases, eBusiness Suite, open source online, database technologies and legacy applications
      • Experience in SQL and PL/SQL a plus
