Position Description: 

The Auto Dealer – Internal Account Manager is responsible for soliciting new business and servicing existing customers through outbound telephone sales and managing the OEConnection process for assigned areas.

Primary Responsibilities:

Make outbound sales calls to Auto Channel dealer locations to grow sales Develop and maintain relationships with assigned dealer locations

  • Identify sales growth opportunities including products and auto dealer programs
  • Educate locations about programs and monitor and provide program compliance updates

Maintain thorough knowledge of new and existing products, policies, and merchandising information to efficiently serve customers Research, prioritize, and plan sales calls for sales growth, customer retention, and business development Collaborate with Account Development Specialists to maintain relationships and service dealer locations in overlapping areas Conduct complex issue resolution for customers

  • Collaborate with Inside Sales and Service Managers and Inside Sales and Service Representatives to understand issues raised
  • Communicate customer issues and feedback to appropriate ATD colleagues, including Account Development Specialists

Maintain knowledge of competitors' pricing, policies and market strategy to effectively deal with business competition Champion corporate image and reputation by providing customers with suitable promotional activities as directed

Experience(s) that Best Prepares You:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED
  • Experience: Prior work experience sufficient to work under remote supervision
    • Minimum 3 years telephone sales experience required
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Company in its discretion may find appropriate and acceptable

  • Strong problem solving skills to identify and address root causes
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic business math
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills and proactive management of responsibilities
  • Knowledge of current materials, methods, tools and equipment used in distribution operations
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative relationship with key partners
  • Ability to carry out oral and written instructions
  • Ability to effectively use Microsoft Word, Excel, and ATD systems including CRM

Physical Demands/Work Environment/Travel Requirements:

  • Physical demands:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk, hear, taste and/or smell; the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 150 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work environment:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Travel required:  5% of the time, with travel throughout the assigned region and may require overnight stays. Travel could include both automobile and air travel. Travel to the Field Support Center and other destinations will be required.
