Position Description: 

The primary responsibility of the Freight Coord. Dispatcher is to Route out going deliveries and communications regarding freight shipments and transportation needs for ATD Branches and Mixing Warehouses and the coordination of forward DC’s shipments to ensure proper workload and Distribution Center goals for productivity are achieved, also responsible for achieving delivery of merchandise and documentation within projected timelines and liaising effectively and fostering relationships with ATD team members.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Achieve delivery of merchandise and documentation within projected timelines.
  • Liaising effectively and fostering relationships with ATD team members.
  • Maintain accurate information and reports of all assigned materials. Ensure project objectives and milestones are achieved.
  • Coordinate and work closely with appointed field contacts to ensure common objectives are met, support the Logistic Manager/Analyst to achieve corporate goals while providing recommendations of continuous process improvements. Improvements should lead to the minimization of freight expenses while bolstering branch sales. 
  • Assist in the validation of expenses and help identify trends for further analysis.
  • Maintaining worksheets on detention charges throughout American Tire Distributors. Analyze data to determine root cause.  Works Closely with ATD Accounting Department.
  • Tender Exception Deliveries with Carriers along while coordinating with the receiving branch to assure branch effectiveness.
  • Work closely with Freight Payment organizations assuring proper Freight rates are applied to all ship methods, communicate effectively with all disciplines.
  • Execute reports timely and accurately, hold carriers to freight metrics established by Logistic Analyst, excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills
  • Commitment to tasks and goals set forth by operations

Experience(s) that Best Prepares You:                       

  • Education:  High school diploma
  • Experience: Previous Logistics experience and accounting skills preferred.
