Position Description: 

Performs and assists the Warehouse Lead Person or Warehouse Manager in a variety of duties relating to warehousing, transportation and safety and inventory functions in the warehouse. Assists with assigning, directing, and monitoring the work of all team members, designing and implementing work methods. Also assists with Implementing work procedures to increase productivity and improve service within the operation. Warehouse Lead Person will be have strong self-management, decision making and creative thinking skills along with demonstrate creative thinking and continuous learning skills and always show accountability for his/her work results all while demonstrating teamwork and respect.

Primary Responsibilities:                                                         

  • Assists with assigning, directing, and monitoring the work of all team members
  • Assists with designing and implementing work methods.  Assists with Implementing work procedures to increase productivity and improve service within the operation.
  • Assists with evaluating the performance of team members and providing training experience as needed.
  • Assists with supervising all receiving and shipping records daily
  • Assists with administering the safety program set forth by American Tire Distributors.
  • Assists with ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager / Operations Manager.
  • Maintain a minimum throughput of 29 units per hour.
  • Maintain an absolute inventory variance of 2% or less.
  • Assist in the reduction of the mixing center’s IFR to below the company average.

Experience(s) that Best Prepares You:                                     

  • Education:  High school diploma or GED
  • Experience:  Computer literacy is required.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the company, in its discretion, may find appropriate and acceptable.

  • Physical demands:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk, hear, taste and/or smell; the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 150 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work environment:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Travel required:  Travel to the Field Support Center and other destinations may be required.
