Position Description: 

ATD is looking for a highly motivated and forward thinking Director of Sales Operations to support, develop and deliver best practice and innovation to our Sales teams, with the ultimate objective of improving sales effectiveness and driving revenue across the sales organization. The Director of Sales Operations will play a key strategic role in providing oversight to Forecasts, Sales Planning and Sales Execution. This role will take the lead in establishing consistent sales and reporting processes across the sales regions. The role holder will work closely with the Regional Presidents and Regional Sales Operations Directors to support the company in adopting best practices, establishing priorities and implementing initiatives to optimize sales productivity.



Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Take the lead in creating sales forecasts, commission structure, and associated budgets ensuring all are appropriate and accurate.
  • Provide weekly perspective on state of the business and recommendations on how to maximize sales revenue.
  • Work with the regions and FPNA on annual forecasting to include providing sales input to monthly S&OP process
  • Develop and owns Best Practice and standard operation procedure (SOP) documentation and Guidelines to improve performance, drive sales excellence and improve customer experience across the customer journey.
  • Develops and manages Sales Operations to effectively deliver campaigns and initiatives, balancing vendor requirements and liaising with merchandizing and streamlining delivery plans with broader stakeholder groups involved in co-delivery of sales operations initiatives.
  • Defines and establishes central support function to handle best practice and implementation support requests from the Sales teams
  • Alignment with Regional Sales Operations Directors to support and deploy relevant initiatives, and ensure co-ordination, communication, and execution of strategy
  • Represents Sales Operations requirements in working groups to support business process enablement through sales systems

Requirements

  • Education:  Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in related field
    • Prior sales management and operations experience is required
    • Minimum 6-8 years of related experience in leading a quota-exceeding team
    • Strong Sales Planning and Sales Operations background required; financial background preferred
    • 1-3 years of outside B2B sales/including new business development
    • Strong organizational, planning, project management, problem resolution, communication, presentation, facilitation, collaboration and influencing skills
    • Demonstrated ability to lead and work within a multi-functional team environment, with a strong track record of delivering measurable results
    • Ability to direct collaboration among cross-functional teams including external resources
    • Demonstrated ability to make meaningful recommendations to senior management regarding the strategic direction of the sales organization, including the ability to make tough recommendations
    • Stay informed on cutting-edge tools and technology which may be leveraged to improve sales productivity
    • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines and manage expectations of all stakeholders
    • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, including the ability to make effective presentations to a variety of senior level audiences

  • Travel required: 20+% of the time, travel throughout the U.S. and may require overnight stays.
