Position Description: 

The tire business is evolving – and so is ATD. Using advanced analytics, ATD is developing tools that make managing the tire business a science. Our salesforce is evolving to an analytical team that can act as trusted advisors to our customers. To drive this, ATD is developing digital and analytically-enabled tools that our sellers use for customer interactions. ATD needs someone who can be part of leading this transformation.

We are looking for an individual with sales expertise, and a passion for continuous improvement to fill this Director of Sales Effectiveness role. This is a critically important leadership role within ATD’s sales organization, working closely with the VP of Sales Center of Excellence to develop capabilities and improve effectiveness of over 500 sellers in the field. You should be a trusted leader who is analytical, process-oriented and has a track record of delivering results. In this role, you will be responsible for leading implementation of key sales initiatives, building metrics and conducting analytics to monitor the performance of the sales team.

  • Develop and deploy strategies to make sellers more effective, in collaboration with field sales leaders, Sales Deployment Directors, and VP Sales Center of Excellence
  • Design and implement standard sales process, including developing and tracking sales pipeline, sales call tools (agendas, CRM, analytics tools, etc) and processes to reduce sellers’ administrative workload
  • Create and implement Sales Operations Score Cards to assess effectiveness of new sales force model
  • Develop consistent sales reporting and KPIs to be delivered to field sales teams
  • Design and act as the “gate keeper” to all field-bound communications
  • Develop and manage sales budgeting process with Director of Sales Performance Monitoring and Analytics
  • Collaborate with Growth and Innovation team to disseminate digital tools to sales team
  • Build relationships with the sales teams through ongoing engagement to influence sales practices and performance
  • Partner with HR in the development and implementation of our field based training & learning platform
  • Drive adoption of sales best practices to achieve excellence and consistency nationwide
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) to recommend innovative solutions to cross-functional business partners
  • Proactively identify opportunities for performance improvements and collaborate effectively to develop solutions

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Master’s Degree preferred

Experience

  • Experience with sales operations required
  • Management experience and a minimum of 7 years of sales experience
  • Experience leading initiatives of national scope preferred
  • Experience in leading Business / Function transformation preferred, but not required
  • Experience across Core, Auto, Corporate selling channels preferred, but not required
  • Six sigma (or similar process improvement capability) background preferred, but not required
