Position Description: 

The Director of Infrastructure & Operations manages the performance, functionality and reliability of ATDs applications. This position ensures 24x7 application software availability in support of mission critical business requirements. The Director of Infrastructure & Operations functions as both production support and development support for implementation projects. This role also works with the VP of Infrastructure Services & Operations to establish strategies and priorities for the overall IT operations team by analyzing and understanding the current and future applications and operational support needs in order to formulate and recommend plans to keep pace with business demand.

Primary Responsibilities:

Strategy & Planning

  • Responsible for Managing and Engineering for datacenter operations, Public and Private Cloud Environments, Core and LAN/WAN networking across the enterprise
  • Lead all aspects of data networking team including design, engineering, security, implementation, and operations for the enterprise’s global network
  • Define and establish IT Department operational and strategic planning, goals, objectives, and operating procedures within the scope of responsibility
  • Define architectural guidelines and implements service monitoring across all platforms to ensure high availability and disaster recovery capability of critical systems

Operational Management

  • Strike an appropriate balance between lean and cost effective IT Operations versus efficient, effective lead IT strategic and operational planning to achieve business goals by monitoring service/performance levels, fostering innovation, prioritizing IT initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future IT systems across the organization
  • Automate and commoditize mundane tasks to enable helpdesk to perform or provide self-service whenever possible
  • Direct the development, ongoing maintenance, and execution of an enterprise-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plan. Facilitate the review of hardware and software acquisition, maintenance contracts and pursue master service agreements to capitalize on economies of scale. Negotiate vendor contracts/renewals including business case ROI determination for all infrastructure related activities
  • Keep current with trends and issues in the IT industry; advise, counsel and educate executives and management on their impact. Assess and propose the emerging information technologies to be assimilated, integrated, and introduced within the corporation that will significantly impact the enterprise

Relationship Management

  • Work with senior management and IT personnel including engineers and architects to ensure strategy and business alignment
  • Promote and oversee strategic relationships between internal IT resources and all levels of the organization as well as external entities, including vendors and partner organizations

People/Talent Management

  • Develop the Infrastructure team and mentor talent to deliver the technology management and execution capabilities of the organization.  Attract and retain talent through positive employee relations and robust succession planning. Enable a constant learning environment for all team members
  • Develop a culture of strong communication, feedback, accountability, rewards and performance and drive employee engagement initiatives

Experience(s) that Best Prepares You: 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive IT experience, including leadership in some or all of the following disciplines: Networking and Infrastructure, Datacenter management, Cloud Computing including SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, knowledge of Oracle ERP, Storage, and VMWare is required
  • Strong people management and recruitment skills, ability to continually improve processes and procedures

Physical Demands/Work Environment/Travel Requirements:

  • Work environment:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to office conditions prevalent at the time.  The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate
