Position Description: 

Primary responsibilities include administering the incident reporting and claim management process, coordinating activity between company representatives and 3rd party service providers to ensure the timely reporting of incidents and effective management of claims, and general support of the Risk Management Department.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Receive, document and file initial claim reports. Follow up on necessary information to establish the claim.
  • Reviews and evaluates all property and casualty accident reports for completeness and clarity of data; analyzes data, as needed, to ensure compliance with policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish claims with third party administrator and/or at fault party.
  • Communicates and interacts with medical professionals, claim personnel and others to monitor and assess the progress of rehabilitation efforts, and to facilitate either return to work or, depending upon medical status of the claimant, placement into appropriate alternative positions within the company, ensuring compliance with all appropriate regulations and guidelines.
  • Prepares all necessary forms, records and documentation, to include statistical analyses and reports, for all claims assigned, as required by third party administrator or other involved party.
  • Processes assigned property and casualty claims and performs other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Work with local management to provide claim status updates
  • Process claim billing activities
  • Process requests for Certificates of Insurance, Auto Insurance Identification Cards
  • Track and maintain database of current certificate holders as well as certificates of insurance with ATD as certificate holder from various vendors/service providers
  • Document calls/emails and communicate claimant needs to the applicable claim personnel. Follow up and complete work that originates from the calls/emails received.
  •  Maintain OSHA 300 Logs and associated records.
  • Perform special projects as assigned including, but not limited to, tracking company incident statistics, incident investigation file management, etc.

Direct Report Position Titles



  • High school diploma required. Associate/Bachelor’s degree or NC Adjuster’s License preferred
  • Minimum 2 years’ directly related experience with auto physical damage/liability, workers compensation and general liability claims adjusting, investigation, litigation and/or risk management.
  • Maintain an effective balance of technical writing and creativity / communication to create highly refined work products for nationwide facility use / implementation
  • Ability to use independent judgement and make appropriate insurance claims adjustment decisions and determinations.
  • Ability to document work in progress.
  • Ability to effectively interact and communicate at all levels of the organization
  • Proficient with modern Microsoft Windows Office software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook email
  • Conflict resolution and/or mediation skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of the principle and procedures for the investigation and processing of casualty/liability/workers compensation insurance claims.
