Position Description: 

The Asset Security Analyst assists in the administration and maintenance of the Systems Center Solution. The individual is responsible for deploying updates, third-party patching, and application and operating system deployments. Plans, performs and assists with enterprise operations, configuration, and management for systems and services.

Job Summary

This position will provide assistance with the administration and maintenance of the Systems Center solution. This position will work closely with peers in the deployment of Microsoft updates, third party patching, application and operating system deployments; and Windows 10 servicing. This position will also resolve tickets and incidents opened by end users for SCCM client, application/patch deployments, new system image certification, and Windows client deployments.

This position possesses an enterprise view and understanding of all systems and technologies in place at ATD, along with an advanced knowledge of PC level products deployed throughout ATD.  This position plans, performs or assists with enterprise operations, configuration, and management for the most complex systems and/or services delivered within ATD.  While primarily responsible for securing the software system components, this position possesses an advanced understanding of the software inventory and the business applications running on systems managed and leverages that knowledge to achieve operational efficiencies, including recommending improvement opportunities.

The position assists in maintaining accurate management of records pertaining to vulnerabilities and abnormalities identified in the environment. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Build, test, and deploy the corporate desktop image management solution
  • Package, test, and deploy business software packages and updates to the end user environment
  • Execute inventory management processes of end user hardware and software assets
  • Create Scripting solutions within PowerShell for various administrative needs
  • Conduct testing and evaluation of new hardware models
  • Participate in standard image development, management, QA testing, and deployment
  • Provide support for L2 issue escalations/tickets
  • Able to perform collection and distribution point maintenance
  • Ability to deploy machine compliance baseline configurations                                     

Experience(s) that Best Prepares You:         

  • Education:      Bachelor’s degree required
  • Experience  3 to 5 years related experience
  • Experience with patch management in a Windows environment, Windows/desktop software deployment and configuration of systems, system installation and configuration, printing systems, installation of third-party software, system resource management and the hardware / OS interface, file systems, performance analysis
  • Experience with Active Directory and Group Policies
  • 3-5 years of experience designing, implementing, and maintaining a desktop environment
  • 3-5 years of experience with SCCM
  • 1-3 years of experience managing AD functions (preferred)
  • MCP, MCSE (preferred)
  • Strong fluency in Windows applications and Microsoft Office programs such as MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong understanding of OS system settings, management settings, and navigation
  • Quickly learns and achieves proficiency in new software applications as needed
  • Demonstrates ability to create complex formulas in MS Excel; create queries in company software applications
  • Strong understanding of SCCM 2012, MDT, and Windows 10 Servicing
  • Strong understanding of patch management solutions (WSUS)
  • Strong understanding of Networking, DNS, Infrastructure concepts
  • Strong Scripting experience using Powershell, VBS, etc

Role Specific Competencies:

  • Understanding of the systems and technologies in place at ATD
  • Proficiency with conducting precise impact analyses.  An incorrect patch deployment has the ability to halt system operations impacting internal and external computer operations (Corporate, Enterprise Unit facing tools)
  • Ability to identify tasks which require automation and automate them, identify opportunities for improvement and recommend these opportunities which include overall recommendations and timelines
  • A solid understanding of the target operating system (i.e. Windows, Linux, UNIX); understands system resource management (i.e. paging and swapping), inter-process communications, device management and the hardware / OS interface, file system concepts; can use performance analysis to tune systems
