Position Description: 

This individual will partner with business units on projects and process improvement opportunities. These projects support business strategic goals and are centered on process simplification, customer experience, top line growth and bottom line results. As an important member of the ATD Continuous Improvement team – he/she will be responsible for supporting other members of the Continuous Improvement team in their project efforts. This includes demonstrating the behaviors necessary to shift a corporate culture to thinking about process simplification and improvement with business impact, as well as the ability to embrace change.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Execute on project goals at the direction of CI&P leadership, project sponsors and team members.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills – ability to work on multiple assignments.
  • Gathering and organizing facts and data to support project activities.
  • Strong understanding of Data Quality and Measurement Systems – ability to work with business units to develop customer centric data/measurement systems that support business processes.
  • Build relationships within Finance, on project teams and across the enterprise to enable cooperative and collaborative achievement of business objectives.
  • Through practical application, develop strong competencies in DMAIC projects, Kaizen activities, Value Stream Mapping and the utilization of Lean Six Sigma tools and methodology.
  • Continually evaluate and learn new tools, processes or approaches to further the capabilities within the team.
  • Works under general direction and supervision.
  • Demonstrates problem solving skills to analyze & summarize simple to moderately complex problems.
  • Manages ambiguity within bounds of the project or activity.
  • Ability to manage and document schedules and scope while assessing and managing risk & issues.
  • Exhibits basic professional written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Exhibits solid character and strength in executing agreed upon project activities; conveying confidence and reliability.
  • Ability to communicate a basic understanding of project goals, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Accepts and adapts to feedback to drive personal improvement.

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Ability to operate with a results-oriented focus and strong sense of urgency.
  • Demonstrates ability to learn new concepts and develop skillsets in continuous improvement, including a willingness to gain basic skills and certifications within the Lean Six Sigma discipline. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.  Previous experience in project leadership and change management is preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with specific ability to communicate concepts and ideas concisely.
  • Highly organized, detail oriented, proactive and resourceful.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project, etc).
  • Willingness to embrace working in a start-up environment with an agile culture.
  • Professional attitude and service orientation; superb team player.
