Position Description: 

A best in class tire distributor with impacts in the business-to-business and business-to-consumer world seeks a creative UI/UX Designer who is helping build a rich customer experience platform for the end-to-end (shop, buy, install) lifecycle for business-to-business transactions fed by business-to-consumer properties. We’re looking for someone who can take direction from written or spoken ideas and convert them seamlessly into images, layouts and other designs. The successful candidate should have an intimate understanding of how purchase funnels work, especially in the mobile platform, to support our customers. We work in a fast-paced environment, so the ideal UI/UX Designer will be able to hit the ground running. The UI/UX Designer plays a key role in helping protect the brand identity of ATD’s brands by preserving a consistent look-and-feel throughout the design and development of materials.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Create mockups and/or wireframes (depending on each project) that meet current HTML-driven Web page design standards, including but not limited to: usability and navigation, search engine optimization, load times, responsive templates and content management system(s).
  • Provide multiple solutions for complex visual problems.
  • Create wireframes of new pages and components as well as edit established elements.
  • Create guidelines, standards, and repeatable processes to ensure a user-centered software development process.
  • Works with Director of Customer Experience to conceptualize approaches and roadmap for user experience strategies.
  • Be able to present, justify, evangelize and negotiate proposed user interface designs.
  • Collaborate with online product managers, developers, designers, content providers, marketing professionals and agency partners to bring high quality experiences to the web environment that align with business objectives, industry best practices, brand guidelines, and project timelines.
  • Apply a variety of methodologies such as heuristic evaluations, lab studies using think aloud protocol, focus group testing and field research to evaluate new concepts, devices and applications.
  • Contribute to the continual development of user interface design requirements to help generate sales, retain customers, and provide a first class customer experience.
  • Serve as the customer voice and advocate in technology discussions and decisions.
  • Take ownership in driving product and new feature development through every stage of the web development lifecycle.
  • Have a full understanding of the appropriate metrics and key performance indicators to measure performance to goals.
  • This individual will be responsible for documenting user experience interfaces.
  • This individual may take part in the initial planning of projects.
  • Facilitate development of Customer satisfaction scores for online browse and purchasing.


  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of industry related professional experience and education. 
  • Minimum 5 years experience in User Interface and User Experience requirements / site flow documentation and development, web page design and concept development in E-commerce, retail, and sales with a working understanding of E-commerce marketing terminology
  • Experienced in Photoshop (expertise), Dreamweaver (strong knowledge and skills), Illustrator, Adobe Premier and some Sketch skills preferred.
  • Experience working in a B2B and B2C Web E-Commerce environments.
  • Experience designing for desktop, tablet and mobile platforms.
