Position Description: 

As a Training Manager, you will be responsible for designing, organizing, coordinating, and conducting training programs to improve employee performance, skills, and productivity. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to identify training needs, develop curriculum, and facilitate engaging learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Utilizes existing knowledge and full understanding of L&D principles to elevate learning experiences at ATD.

Training Strategy - 10%

  • In partnership with Director – Learning & Development, work on problems of diverse scope while analyzing information and devising solutions based on existing information and an ability to adapt and resolve issues

Training Needs Assessment - 10%

  • Conduct assessment to identify skill gaps and training needs across different roles, departments, or teams

Curriculum Development - 10%

  • Design and create digital and facilitated training materials, manuals, and performance support tools for role readiness, continuing skill development, and addressing identified skill deficiencies

Training Delivery - 25%

  • Conduct training sessions, workshops, and seminars either in-person or through digital platforms, ensuring they are engaging, informative, and align with learning objectives

Training Planning & Execution - 20%

  • Perform all aspects of facilitated or training course execution to include authoring and sending course communications, coordinating logistics such as meals, room reservations, and coordinating with other involved third parties

Training Evaluation, Reporting, and Analytics - 15%

  • Measure the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics. Modify programs based on evaluation results to enhance their impact.  Provide reporting to L&D and functional stakeholders as needed by course, topic or program.  Analyze the impact of training programs correlated to identified business KPIs

Technology Integration - 5%

  • Explore and utilize innovative technologies and tools to enhance training delivery and engagement, such as online learning platforms, virtual classrooms, audience engagement tools and on the job performance support platforms

Vendor and Resource Management - 5%

  • Manage the training budget efficiently, including the allocation of resources for training initiatives and materials.  Complete expense reports and work with third party vendors on any billing and fulfillment needs

Skills & Competencies:

Skills:

  • Presentation Skills: Ability to speak confidentially in from of large and small groups at all levels of the organization
  • Virtual facilitation: Comfort in presenting in a virtual classroom setting, specifically Microsoft Teams
  • Curriculum development: Strong background in the creation of presentations, documents, and other digital tools using Microsoft Office applications (PPT, Word, Excel)
  • Data analysis: Pulling, analyzing and reporting out on data; providing insights and recommended actions based on data
  • Organization and Time Management: Ability to work on multiple projects and priorities at any given time

Competencies:  

  • Written Communications: Ability to develop clear, concise, and compelling messages delivered via email or other digital channels
  • Project Management: Planning and organizing with the ability to multi-task and meet project deadlines with attention to detail
  • Collaboration: Utilizing relationships to influence senior internal/external partners; adapting styles for various audiences
  • Strong Decision Making and Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze unusual circumstances and work independently to problem solve and identify root-case while proposing solutions

Experience and Education:

  • Experience:  Minimum 3 – 5 years of experience
  • Education:  Minimum High school diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree from 4-year college or university preferred

Physical Demands:

  • Physical requirements: May be required to lift boxes or materials up to 20 lbs
  • Travel:  10 – 25%

Other:

  • Experience with instructional design (e.g. ADDIE, SAM, 6 Disciplines of Break Through Learning) with application of adult learning theory demonstrated in instruction design techniques
  • 2-3 years of learning curricula design/creation using various modalities. Experienced with virtual/ e-learning as the delivery method. Micro-Learning experience preferred
  • 2-3 years of experience with learning delivery, program implementation, program evaluation, and change management with experience influencing sponsors, stakeholders across a range of levels
  • Design thinking background: data-driven, learner-centered researcher; concept prototyping; define and analyze metrics; apply insights to improve programs and solutions
  • Experience in authoring tools and developing modern, digital learning pathways and blended learning approaches

2+ years of experience in the following authoring and editing tools:

  • Computer based training software — Advanced level of knowledge of professional design tools, Articulate 360 Suite (Storyline, Rise, Replay and Peek); Micro-Learning design focused
  • Desktop publishing software — Adobe InDesign
  • Graphics or photo imaging software — Adobe Creative Cloud, Illustrator, Photoshop; Techsmith Snagit
  • Video creation and editing software — Adobe Premiere Pro and Audition; Vyond; Techsmith Camtasia
  • Data and Measurement – Microsoft Excel with familiarity with basic and intermediate formulas for reporting and analysis such as pivot tables
  • Learning Management –LMS architecture and deployment knowledge
  • Microlearning experience; Axonify system administrator knowledge a plus
