Primary Warehouse:
SWOT responsibilities include: requirement to travel to other ATD distribution centers engaging in both regular work functions and special projects. Must have the ability to multitask and identify priorities that align self and team with standard practices and processes. Coordination with local and regional leadership around duties/responsibilities required while assigned to other distribution centers.
Load and unload delivery trucks – Lifting products weighing up to approximately 50 pounds. Handling of tires (e.g., rolling, destacking, team lifting) greater than approximately 50 pounds.
Operate powered industrial vehicles (forklifts, pallet jacks, order pickers, etc.) in a safe manner and maintain an operator license, if required.
Prioritize and pick material to fill orders and stage product for loading
Assist in verifying all incoming and outgoing products for accuracy in terms of amount, size and type, informing management of inventory and supply shortages as well as assisting in actual periodic inventory counts
Designate and organize the warehouse stock by product line and by physical alignment, allowing sufficient space for overflow
Perform periodic facilities maintenance and/or custodial / housekeeping tasks, such as cleaning parking lot, loading dock and area surrounding building, keeping floors clear of debris, maintaining bathrooms, and assisting in daily closing down of warehouse
Compile and submit regular reports of damaged, outdated stock or supplies, over and under shipments, return of products to vendor, etc. and segregate defective product from normal flow of inventory
Assist in administrative tasks, such as the handling and preparation of paperwork. May assist in daily closing of the warehouse.
When operating a delivery truck:
Ability to understand, communicate, and follow through with American Tire Distributors’ policies regarding acceptance of returns, warranty items, and truck-tire casings from customers
Completion of all paperwork including pre and post trip vehicle inspection forms, Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) regulatory logbooks, mileage reports, and various Company product sales and credit documents.
Problem resolution and communication skills are essential to effectively deal with any unanticipated customer related issues and to resolve those issues in a manner that results both ethical and positive customer relations
Interaction with sales staff, customer service staff, and our customers, as well as to safely operating equipment on the open road
Safely operate assigned vehicles according to federal traffic laws and regulations
Required to have general knowledge of the assigned route and additional routes within the assigned region (for back-up purposes)
Maintain safe working practices in accordance with OSHA regulations and Company policy to minimize risk of injury to others and self.
Product knowledge is a necessity to ensure unloading of correct product at each customer site, as well as pick-up of items according to documentation
Complete Company-standardized paperwork in an accurate and legible manner to ensure credits are posted to accounts on a timely basis

Experience(s) that Best Prepares You:
Must be 21 years of age
Must possess valid Class “C” driver’s license, or such other proper license classification as to the above qualifications required by the Department of Transportation in conjunction with vehicle weight
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: Prior work experience sufficient to work under general supervision

Travel required: 75% of the time or greater travel throughout the US required
