Position Description: 

The Supply Chain Purchasing Analyst executes the purchasing strategy and the daily, weekly and monthly transmissions of all purchase orders for the vendors they have under their responsibility. This includes the reviewing the system recommendations and releasing (approving) the purchase orders for their vendors within the vendor, shipping and receiving constraints documented. The Analyst’s vendors can represent both domestic and international vendors and the operations teams involved in the process will be different based on the purchasing method. In addition, the Analyst will be responsible for processing changes to the flow of product and manage the impact on the ordering process where necessary. The Analyst will participate in vendor collaboration meetings to ensure that the Supply Chain targets are being met – these include inventory targets, fill rate targets, DOH targets, etc. The Analyst will also support vendors and SC Operations issues related to any aspect of the purchase order life cycle – order / weight minimums, delivery scheduling, carrier failures, conflict resolution, receiving issues, discrepancies.

RESPONSIBILITIES


Procurement 

Achieve specific procurement goals within area of responsibility. May also involve working to improve established procurement procedures.


Category Management

Deliver specific category goals within a category plan/program in line with the organizations’ purchasing/ procurement and/or sales strategy.


Sourcing

Collect and analyze the key cost drivers, market dynamics and issues, areas of innovation, and alternative suppliers for a low-risk area with many alternatives/minimum costs of changing, in consultation with relevant functions to provide solid market information for decision making.


Information and Business Advice

Resolve complex queries from internal or external customers or suppliers by providing information on policies and/or procedures, referring the most complex issues to others.


Data Collection and Analysis

Conduct research using primary data sources and select information needed for the analysis of key themes and trends.


Operational Compliance

Develop knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct to ensure own work adheres to those standards. Obtain authorization from a supervisor or manager for any exceptions from mandatory procedure.


Stakeholder Engagement  

Support stakeholder engagement by arranging actions and meetings.


Supplier Management

Investigate incidents with suppliers or supplies and recommend actions in a timely manner to enable the delivery of the agreed services and supplies.


Client & Customer Management (Internal)

Help senior colleagues manage internal client and customer relationships by using relevant sales or systems.


Insights and Reporting

Prepare and coordinate the completion of various data and analytics reports.

Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships by using relevant sales or systems.

Works with guidance (but not constant supervision) to develop appropriate plans or perform necessary actions based on recommendations and requirements.


Review and Reporting
