Position Description:

We are looking for a Corporate Strategy Analyst who will be responsible for providing analysis to support the execution of ATD’s overall corporate strategy. The Corporate Strategy team plays a critical role in driving ATD’s growth and strategic transformation by developing high-growth strategic options and plans and acting as a strategic partner across the organization to bring growth initiatives to life. Our team is principally tasked with developing overall ATD growth strategies and formulating long-term strategic plans that address specific objectives, issues, and opportunities that support continued improvement of ATD’s overall performance. The Corporate Strategy Analyst will work cross functionally across the entirety of ATD’s business, engaging with functional partners in Finance, Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, Pricing, HR, IT, and field personnel.

Job Description

  • Support the Corporate Strategy team with both quantitative and strategic analyses that will inform a variety of business strategies and projects directly linked to ATD’s long term strategic roadmap
  • Collaborate with Corporate Strategy team members to craft project plans for unstructured business problems and opportunities with the ultimate end goal being the creation of a fully formed, implementable strategy (examples include go to market/market entry, new customer identification, investment evaluation, M&A)
  • Develop pro forma financial models to validate business proposals and drive decision making
  • Conduct market, industry and opportunity-specific research to inform the development of new strategic opportunities
  • Create impactful PowerPoint slide decks for use in Board of Directors presentations, customer & supplier meetings, and high priority internal projects (or similar)
  • Produce ad-hoc, Excel-based reporting based on requests from key business partners
  • Serve as a thought partner for business partners in various functional groups
  • Support the ATD corporate strategic planning process through analysis, facilitation of working group sessions, strategy alignment, and coordination of cross-functional teams
  • Support the strategy team’s efforts to monitor, gather and communicate market, customer and competitive intelligence to company leaders
  • Provide ad hoc project-level support to high-priority strategic projects
  • Meet departmental standards for quality, quantity and turn time expectations.
  • Prioritize multiple responsibilities to ensure all deadlines are met and resolve any issues in a timely manner by partnering with appropriate strategy and business partner(s).

You will need the following to succeed at ATD:

At a minimum:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related business discipline (Business, Marketing, Finance, Economics, etc.)
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience solving problems in a highly analytical business role (Consulting, Corporate Strategy, Banking, Finance, etc.)
  • Ability to generate well-founded, fact-based insights from rigorous analysis, with specific focus on insights derived from use of Excel, Tableau, or PowerBI
  • Demonstrated strength using PowerPoint to create effective, board-level presentations
  • Comfortable presenting in front of large groups and senior executives
  • Navigate well in a fast-paced and often changing environment with competing priorities
  • Possess intellectual curiosity and the desire to challenge conventional ways of thinking / operating
  • Build relationships and form an effective partnership across multiple functions and levels

It’d be great if you also have:

  • MBA (preferred)
  • Manufacturing or Distribution experience
  • B2B and B2C experience
