Position Description: 

Pursuant to Section 20 C.F.R. 656.10, you are hereby notified that an application for Alien Employment Certification is being filed for the following position:

Solutions Architect: Plan, coordinate, design and supervise all activities related to the designated application to meet the business requirements of the organization. Develop and maintain the application architecture blueprint for the organization and alignment of changes across the solution. Define architecture for design and integration of computing systems by analyzing information requirements; determine middleware architecture, technology, and tools; study business operations and integration requirements; and direct development of middleware. Plan, execute and manage the integration of new enterprise applications and upgrade of existing systems. Ensure that middleware projects meet business requirements and goals, fulfill end-user requirements and identify and resolve systems issues. Develop standards and processes to support and facilitate middleware platform projects and initiatives. Manage and mentor business analysts and programmer analysts in the design and development of uniform/quality designs and implementations. Liaise with software developers and engineers to address issues in program logic and the interoperability of new applications with existing systems software. Build relationships with software development and infrastructure teams to gain an understanding of application architectures and required functionality. Perform periodic reviews of systems and architecture to define and implement remediation of deficiencies. Design code to meet functional requirements defined by the Business Analysts. Determine what coding changes must be made, if any, to resolve problems that keep the user from performing their assigned jobs. Assist the Integration Support Manager in the resolution of operational problems. Discuss changes and enhancements with the end user to discover other opportunities that may be addressed in a change request. Min. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology or related field or foreign equivalent and 8 years of sales experience in the IT field; and knowledge the construction/use of XML data sources. Knowledge of Web Services, Oracle SOA suite, Java and designing experience towards integration solutions. Job located in Huntersville, NC; 40 hours per week. $150,000 to $160,000 per year.

The Solution Architect is responsible for the technical architecture and roadmap for designated applications at ATD. This individual must have proven experience creating scalable, maintainable, and well-documented solutions. As an active team member, a successful Solutions Architect will create complex site architectures to support multiple integration points, oversee the implementation of the design, attend client discovery meetings, estimate new projects, and help resolve technical issues as needed. The Solutions Architect is an influencer in the Enterprise Architect meeting and will participate in defining technical direction with other IT Architects in a matrixed organization within ATD.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the technical architecture, platform and roadmap for all B2B and B2C web and Mobile application
  • Partners with peers within all ATD Information Technology groups to promote latest architecture principles, standards, methods, and strategic direction for the enterprise
  • Partner with key stakeholders to flesh out the architectural approach collaboratively and then lead the solutioning with an Agile, hands-on engineering mindset with relentless focus on quality and timely delivery
  • Establishes the specific Digital architecture strategies for applications and services to meet the needs and business requirements of our Digital commerce platform. 
  • Leads Digital  IT strategy & IT technology architecture in support of both internal and external customers/partners
  • Collaborate with other technology architects in ATD to provide direction into the architecting and implementation of MSA/SOA and API integration to access back-end systems/technology.
  • Lead efforts to optimize current platforms (SAP Commerce Cloud, Java/Spring/SQL) to continue customer acquisition and testing capabilities.    
  • Responsible for Engineering Excellence across the Digital  development team including optimizing maintainability of design/code and improving productivity.

  • Education:  Bachelor’s Degree in computer systems related field required.  MS in Computer Science or MBA preferred.
  • Experience:  8+ years of escalating technical IT experience required. Solid experience in application development and design methodologies.

Key Competencies:

  • Solid experience in Cloud, Application, Server, MSA and container development methodologies
  • Solid experience in both infrastructure and application technologies from Cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure), Linux and Windows.
  • Solid experience in application design and development
  • Experienced on functional and technical aspects of applications and infrastructure topology
  • Knowledge of programming languages and technologies such as Java, Spring, JavaScript, DHMTL, AJAX toolkits, XML, XSLT, ADFS, and LDAP.
  • Knowledge and Experience with J2EE and related technologies is a plus (EJB, JSP, Servlets, JAXP)
  • Knowledge of object oriented design and development, advanced knowledge of IT solutions, Java applications development, web and mobie applications development, enterprise application integration, functional specification and project management and related technologies
  • Knowledge of SOA Web Services, SOAP, WSDL, Knowledge of Messaging JMS, MQ Series.
  • Databases SQL, MySQL, NoSQL , and Data Access Methodologies (Stored Procedures , Dynamic SQL, Prepared Statements)
  • Knowledge of Web Site Networking (Routers, Switches, Firewalls, Local Directors, Arrow-points, VLANs)
  • Knowledge of Web Site Protocols & Communications (HTTP, HTTPS, TCP-IP, MQ)
  • Possesses wide base of experience in many disciplines of information technology including
    • Experience working in a Software / Technology company preferred
    • Experience working with large external customers.
    • Operating Systems (Unix, Windows, Linux),Performance Management and Capacity Planning, Messaging Software and Interoperability Techniques and Standards
    • Business Intelligence and Analysis, Web & Server Technologies
    • E-Commerce Network Design and Protocol, E-Business Enabling Technologies
    • Storage, Directory Services, Network Engineering (Switching, Routing, Content Management), Information Technology Hardware, Data Center Designs and Consolidations, Virtualization Technology Skills
