Position Description: 

The Senior Network Engineer provides technical expertise, strategic and tactical planning, design, engineering and documentation of ATD core network infrastructure including the implementation and design of hardware and software. This position performs network analytics and is able to report on capacity, availability of the ATD enterprise network. The Senior Network Engineer performs root cause analysis, level 3-problem resolution and demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. The candidate relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish set goals. The Senior Network Engineer may provide consultation on complex projects and is considered to be the top level contributor/specialist with a wide degree of creativity and latitude expected. The candidate works with the Enterprise Infrastructure Manager to establish strategies and priorities for the overall network environments by analyzing and understanding the current and future industry trends in order to formulate and recommend plans to keep pace with the business and technical demands. This role works very closely with the other team members in the Infrastructure, Network and Operations groups including Systems and Network Engineers. They also work regularly with the Development, QA and Partner Support groups

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Build and document new environments following industry best practices and internal security policies and standards
  • Lead or act as a key contributor for technology projects
  • Troubleshoot problems and respond to inquiries in development, staging, and production environments, including Firewalls, Load Balancers, Routers, Switches, and software defined networking systems.
  • Participate in capacity planning and demand forecasting, software performance analysis and network tuning
  • Enhance the current environment with custom scripts and tools to simplify and automate tasks
  • Document process, procedures and system builds
  • Provides leadership to the team in cross-team troubleshooting efforts
  • Participates in disaster recovery testing and the updating/maintenance of disaster recovery scripts and documentation
  • Schedules and manages system activities in order to optimize hardware/ software availability and utilization
  • Interacts with Infrastructure and Operations Leadership to ensure that computing platforms are not interfering with customer service performance metrics
  • Responsible for oversight to ensure the efficient operation and management of Network Infrastructure deployed throughout ATD
  • Perform on-call duties when required

Experience(s) that Best Prepares You:           

  • Education:     Minimally a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Experience  8+ years in IT Infrastructure
    • Understand the concept of business process optimization (process improvement)
    • CCIE certification is preferred for this position, However CCNP with equivalent level of experience will be considered

  • More than 8 years of experience as a Network engineer managing highly complex infrastructure with high traffic
  • Expert knowledge with major vendors’ network equipment (Cisco, Arista, F5, Palo Alto, etc.)
  • Hands on experience administrating Linux servers, VMware ESX Server, VMware vCenter, and Network Operating Systems.
  • Experience with VMWare administration, planning and deployment
  • Experience with Scripting and Automation technologies
