Position Description: 

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Director for Technology Governance and Portfolio Management to lead and oversee our technology governance framework and portfolio management processes. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our technology investments align with our overall business objectives, while managing and mitigating risks across our technology projects and initiatives. This position requires a strong background in technology governance, portfolio management, and leadership skills to drive organizational success.

Responsibilities:


1. Develop and implement a comprehensive technology governance framework that encompasses processes, procedures, and standards to ensure effective decision-making and accountability in technology investments. 
2. Lead the development and execution of portfolio management processes, including project prioritization, resource allocation, and performance tracking to ensure optimal utilization of technology resources and alignment with business goals, especially for core technology portfolio. 
3. Collaborate with key stakeholders, including business leaders, technology teams, and external partners, to gather insights and requirements for core technology projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. 
4. Analyze and evaluate technology investments, identifying risks, opportunities, and potential impacts on the organization's overall portfolio. 
5. Provide strategic guidance and recommendations to senior technology leadership on technology investments, portfolio optimization, and risk mitigation strategies. 
6. Oversee and manage the portfolio of technology projects, monitoring progress, budget adherence, and resource allocation to ensure timely and successful project delivery. 
7. Implement effective governance mechanisms, including regular reporting and communication channels, to provide transparency and visibility into the status and performance of technology projects. 
8. Mentor and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the technology governance and portfolio management function. 
9. Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements to drive continuous improvement and ensure accounting compliance with relevant standards. 
10. Collaborate with other IT leaders to promote cross-functional collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and synergy across technology initiatives. 
 
Qualifications:


1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, business administration, or a related field. A master's degree or equivalent is preferred. 
2. Extensive experience (at least 15 years) in technology governance, portfolio management, or a related field, with a proven track record of success in strategic decision-making and driving business outcomes. 
3. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to effectively manage and inspire a diverse team of direct or matrixed technology professionals. 
4. In-depth knowledge of technology governance frameworks, portfolio management methodologies, and industry best practices. 
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex technology portfolios and make data-driven decisions. 
6. Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technology concepts and strategies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
7. Strong business acumen, with the ability to understand and align technology investments with business objectives and financial goals. 
8. Proven ability to influence and collaborate with senior leadership, fostering strong relationships and driving consensus on technology governance and portfolio management initiatives. 
9. Experience in managing technology projects and portfolios within a large, complex organizational environment is highly desirable. 
10. Relevant certifications, such as ITIL, PMP, or CISA, are a plus.
