Position Description:
Key member of the high-profile strategy, business development and transformation team. This team has consistently been at the center of ATD’s growth. The “Senior Analyst, Strategy and Business
Development” role is broad. On any given day you may be working on a cash flow model for our CFO, conducting a financial valuation on an acquisition candidate, deep diving on a CEO agenda project or engaging with a transformation team to help analyze operational or sales opportunities. Said another way, you will be a key member of the strategy team helping support the team and, over time, increasing your level of responsibility. There are no preconceived limitations to the role – your responsibilities will evolve as your work product warrants.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Support the Corporate Strategy team with both quantitative and strategic analyses that will inform a variety of business strategies and projects directly linked to ATD’s long term strategic roadmap
- Collaborate with Corporate Strategy team members to craft project plans for unstructured business problems and opportunities with the ultimate end goal being the creation of a fully formed, implementable strategy (examples include go to market/market entry, new customer identification, investment evaluation, M&A)
- Develop pro forma financial models to validate business proposals and drive decision making
- Conduct market, industry and opportunity-specific research to inform the development of new strategic opportunities
- Create impactful PowerPoint slide decks for use in Board of Directors presentations, customer & supplier meetings, and high priority internal projects (or similar)
- Produce ad-hoc, Excel-based reporting based on requests from key business partners
- Serve as a thought partner for business partners in various functional groups
- Support the ATD corporate strategic planning process through analysis, facilitation of working group sessions, strategy alignment, and coordination of cross-functional teams
- Support the strategy team’s efforts to monitor, gather and communicate market, customer and competitive intelligence to company leaders
- Provide ad hoc project-level support to high-priority strategic projects
- Meet departmental standards for quality, quantity and turn time expectations.
- Prioritize multiple responsibilities to ensure all deadlines are met and resolve any issues in a timely manner by partnering with appropriate strategy and business partner(s).

- Executive sponsors of projects (typically SVP or EVP level)
- Transformation project team members
- Finance team
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or university required
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of related work experience; experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, finance, business rotational program, investment banking, or other similar data-driven function preferred
It’d be great if you also have:
- MBA (preferred)
- Manufacturing or Distribution experience
- B2B and B2C experience
