Position Description: 

The primary responsibility of the Regional Wheel Sales Manager is to assure custom wheels, accessories and performance tire goals are attained in the region, oversight with DBD/GM’s to train and direct relative personnel (Performance Specialists, Wheel Specialists and Wheel Helpers) in assigned markets, the RWSM teaches technical product knowledge, fitment application and market pricing awareness to result achievement of sales goals within the Centers and Region and to maximize sales opportunities through sales calls (via telephone or personal visits) and participate in local and regional trade events to enhance ATD market visibility.

Primary Responsibilities:                                                         

  • Plan, develop and implement both sales and marketing strategies for specific centers and the collective region
  • Coordination of Wheel, Accessory and Performance Tire advertising and promotions in local markets
  • Research, plan and implement sales, customer retention and new business development, including investigation of competitor pricing, policies and market strategy
  • Help recruit, hire, train and motivate custom and performance employees according to Company policy and procedures
  • Develop and champion corporate image and reputation to protect and grow the Company brand via aggressive promotional activities
  • Maximize sales opportunities through sales calls (via telephone or personal visits) and participate in local and regional trade events to enhance ATD market visibility
  • Proficient in the knowledge of current materials, methods, tools and equipment (including technology) used in distribution operations
  • Excellent selling skills including, features-benefits-solutions selling, program selling and problem solving
  • Performance tire and wheel experience, along with tire/aftermarket auto accessories experience preferred
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license at all times and an acceptable motor vehicle record according to the Company’s safety policies. Further, must maintain an assigned Company vehicle up to and exceeding the operational and security standards set forth by the Company

Experience(s) that Best Prepares You:                                                                      

  • Education:  Minimum High School graduate or GED;
    • Preferred Level: Associate Degree from 2-year college
    • Bachelor’s Degree from 4-year University
  • Experience:  experience in tire/after-market auto accessories industry a must
    • 5 years sales experience with proven track record of genuine sales success;
    • Preferred Level: 10 years sales experience with 2 years of sales management
    • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the company, in its discretion, may find appropriate and acceptable.

Physical Demands/Work Environment/Travel Requirements:

  • Physical demands:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk, hear, taste and/or smell; the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 150 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work environment:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Travel required:  80+% of the time, travel throughout the geographic area within the assigned region and will require overnight stays.  Travel to the Field Support Center and other destinations will be required.
