Position Description: 

The Pricing Manager is responsible for managing and executing the pricing strategy for a segment of ATD’s business.

What you’ll do on a typical day: 

  • Conduct analysis using data sets ranging from ATD transaction data, Torqata competitive prices, Lizeo retail prices, Segmentation profiles, etc. 
  • Provide recommendations to business leaders on pricing strategy for segments of ATD’s business with annual revenue upwards of $1 billion  
  • Load prices changes into PriceFx (ATD’s SaaS pricing solution)
  • Track and measure the results of prior pricing decisions on key KPIs such as margin dollars, margin %, GP$/U, and GMROI
  • Recommend adjustments to original strategies based on results
  • Manage clearance pricing strategy and execution for aligned Merchandising partners
  • Provide pricing recommendations for special buys
  • Advise Merchants and Sales leaders on acceptable pricing guardrails for deal pricing (based on knowledge of dead-net gross profit) 
  • Measure customer tilt / customer segmentation changes that go beyond normal discretionary levels to ensure accountability to pricing structure
  • Measure special pricing (e.g. RTMCs) made outside of typical customer price levels to ensure accountability
  • Reduce pricing confusion through effective communication with business leaders in Sales and Merchandising
  • Share best practices across the Revenue Management team to maximize total company profitability

You will need the following to succeed at ATD: 

At a minimum: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree from 4-year College or University; degree obtained in Finance/Accounting, Mathematics and/or Economics or a closely related discipline is preferred; advanced degrees viewed favorably 
  • 5 years of experience in pricing or revenue management roles preferred; analysts, sales operations, supply chain analytics, business analytics or inventory management roles will be considered
  • Knowledge of the tire industry is a plus but not a prerequisite 
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to review and analyze data to draw conclusions, recognize trends, troubleshoot problems, and avoid inaccuracies 
  • Experience with PriceFx, Tableau, Microsoft BI, and strong Excel skills preferred
  • Ability to build strong relationships across a variety of stakeholder groups – Pricing, Merchandising, Sales, Field Support Center, etc. 
  • Ability to manage the execution and tracking of pricing implementation initiatives 
  • Excellent face-to-face, virtual, and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, with an ability to multi-task, track progress and report to management 
  • Communicates Effectively: Develops and delivers multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences. Tailors communication content and style to the needs of others. Pays attention to others' input and perspectives, asks questions, and summarizes to confirm understanding

  • Optimizes Work Processes: Knows the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement. Pays close attention to a variety of metrics and benchmarks; determines both major and subtle ways to optimize processes. Swiftly resolves process breakdowns; takes steps to ensure that problems do not recur
