Position Description: 

The Mixing Center General Manager works under the direction of the Senior Director – Mixing Center Operations and in coordination with key members of the upstream Supply Chain to ensure the mixing center goals for productivity and internal customer service are met while decreasing freight exposure through effective scheduling and Supply Chain communications. The Mixing Center General Manager is accountable for delivering performance in each KPI: EBITA, productivity: UPH/CPHU, inventory accuracy, safety. He/she oversees all operational and administrative facets of the Mixing Center to ensure compliance with all Company guidelines, policies and federal and state regulations in order to protect the Company’s assets. Executes and deploys supply chain strategy while ensuring continuous improvement is occurring at their facility.



Primary Responsibilities:

  • Delivers the mixing center’s annual operating plan by reviewing and managing cost, productivity, and driving toward efficient labor and costs per unit handled; manages expenses to achieve monthly and annual budget/plan as assigned by the Company.
  • Develops, reports, updates, and shares regular reports of Mixing Center performance with key internal audiences; makes available information on returns, delivery status, delivery issues, credit hold, and other admin activities as needed.
  • Collaborates with other General Managers on all inventory procedures and systems including Bin Location Systems, the Op-Ex Costing Structure, WMS, inventory receiving, shipping, transfers and physical count comparisons as required.
  • Promotes organizational health and leads the company safety program by establishing effective training and clear expectations to assure a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Ensures full compliance with OSHA, DOT, ADA and other governmental regulatory agencies while complying with Company policies concerning health and safety.
  • Coaches his/her management team to ensure accuracy of physical inventory and complete carrier deliveries for all Distribution Centers when staging and delivering shipment orders in a timely manner to maintain inventory integrity to below 2% absolute variances.
  • Develops and leads talent in conjunction with our People First strategy; oversees recruitment, selection, Spark/Ignite  onboarding, disciplinary procedures, grievances, counseling, pay and working conditions, training and development, and

succession planning.

  • Leads daily and weekly meetings with staff to identify and address issues to improve efficiencies; may communicate messages and relevant changes from other parts of the Company as needed.

Experience(s) that Best Prepares You:

  • Education: Minimum high school graduate or GED; preferred Bachelor’s degree from 4-year college, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience: 5-8 years’ experience managing in a high volume, low margin, high customer service distribution environment required. Thorough understanding of supply chain, distribution, warehouse, transportation, and inventory. Thorough understanding of P&L statements and OPEX costing structures. Demonstrated people skills including influencing skills, listening and the ability to communicate effectively to diverse groups.

  • Computer programs - Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Capacity and desire to master other Company tools such as Oracle Discoverer and WMS, Road Net, etc.

  •  Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk, hear, taste and/or smell; the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the associate is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Travel required: 10%
