Position Description: 

At American Tire Distributors, our purpose is to help our customers thrive and drive into the future. We are looking for a Compensation Manager who will partner with Vice President, Total Rewards and the HR Generalist team in the design, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the organization's rewards programs, including base pay, and incentive pay.

The Compensation Manager serves as a thought leader in the area of compensation strategy, design and administrations supporting and helping to create the end-to-end compensation strategy for ATD and solve complex organizational challenges through people-related solutions. While this role will have strong emphasis on broad-based compensation and its evolution at ATD, it will be instrumental in helping shape compensation at ATD within a strategic total rewards context, in partnership with other HR and business leaders. In addition, this role works to ensure that compensation strategy and programs support the organization's business objectives and meet all legal requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES


Compensation Program Design

Develop and manage the delivery of employee compensation structures and benefit programs, ensuring the needs of internal stakeholders are met and ensuring compliance with legal requirements.


Incentive Program Design

Support the design and delivery of employee incentive programs; provide relevant financial, operational, and business performance analyses and insights; draft elements of the technical design; draft internal management reports.


Annual Pay Review

Plan and deliver the annual review; propose review objectives based on HR insights; coordinate the activities of colleagues across the HR function; brief and oversee the activities of external platform providers; monitor outcomes and propose remedial actions where appropriate.


HR Data Management

Specify, develop, and test HR data collection procedures and tools within an area of HR practice to meet defined key principles and ensure compliance with external requirements.


Executive Reward Program Design

Support the design and delivery of annual and long-term executive compensation programs, delivering elements of the technical design and drafting remuneration committee papers and disclosure statements.


Budgeting

Track budgets and report variances to more senior colleagues.


External Consultant or Contractor Engagement

Prepare briefings and information for external consultants or advisors to support the delivery of key projects and/ or ad hoc services. Monitor and evaluate outcomes and recommend remedial actions where necessary.

Data Collection and Analysis

Works without supervision and provides technical guidance when required on analyzing data trends for use in reports to help guide decision making.


Data Control

Works without supervision and provides technical guidance when required on acquiring, organizing, protecting and processing data to fulfill business objectives.


Contract Management

Supervises the construction of assigned properties according to instructions without supervision and provides technical guidance as needed.


Negotiation

Negotiates without supervision and provides technical guidance when required on how to help the organization by obtaining consensus between two or more internal or external parties who may have different interests.


Action Planning

Works with guidance (but not constant supervision) to develop appropriate plans or perform necessary actions based on recommendations and requirements.
